Default 4wd bulbs

Does anyone know what type of bulb is needed for the transfer case buttons? Or better yet is there a list anywhere of bulbs for all the interior? I have a couple more out just can't remember exactly which ones. I thought about just replacing the entire switch unit but if I can get bulbs for cheap I don't mind taking it apart. Thanks

I don't think there is a way replace, just have to buy the whole switch. I have replaced the 4WD on my old 96 Tahoe. My current 2001 go out once in a while so I may need to replace my switch soon. Check ebay.

I bought a Dorman replacement and wasn't happy with it. The lettering looks cheaper than than the factory unit and the lighting is a too green compared to stock. Also could see the orange led's light up around the button itself and just didn't look clean IMO. Now I even screwed up my chance on returning it because I tried to just swap bulbs and re use the factory unit, but I damaged it a little in the process. So I put the stock box back in and just dealing with the lights out until I find a way to replace the bulbs. There has to be a method, no light bulb is just irreplaceable. I just need to figure what type of bulb they are and get to soldering most likely.

Hey, 04Burban, Welcome to the Chevrolet Forums.

Actually, lately they have been soldering some of the

new neon bulbs in line to circuits so they light when activated.

But I can't speak to your specific shift unit.

Well at least it is being done somehow... I can do it once I see the idea of how its done, I just don't know enough to go in and start unsoldering and resoldering things.

Default switch

i would just go to the dealer and buy the oem gm factory unit. I have done this myself in the past and was happy. Seems more time and effort than its worth to mess with indivitual bulbs.

Default Type? Pics?

I'm going to assume you have a 4x4 2004 Suburban from your handle, but we may be better able to assist if you can confirm that.

thanks

Yes it is a 2004 2500 with the auto 4x4 option. I haven't had much time to deal with it lately or any luck finding a bulb type.
