4WD engaging Problem

I would check for a short but it could be a bad transfer case. Try unplugging the connector and see of it still blows when you try to change modes. If so check to see if the wires have a connection to ground. Im sure that at least one is ground so you would have to get a schematic to see which is what. I have never had issues with mine so I have never had it appart.

99.9 percent sure it is gonna be your 4wd actuator on the front differential switch that out then try a new fuse. You'll have to figure out which style it is motor heated element, just go by the number of wires in the harness going to the actuator and how many pins the connector has.
