4WD Malfunction?
I have a 2004 Tahoe Z71 with 90K miles. It has recently been shifting out of 2WD at startup. When I start the engine it is sometimes in Neutral (red light) and sometimes it is in 4Hi or 4Lo. I put the streering shifter into neutral, hit the 2Hi button and it shifts out and stays in 2Hi until I stop and shut the engine off.
I especially notice this occuring after long trips. Like after a 4-5 hour interstate trip.
I called the dealership and of course he said to bring it in and they would "diagnose it". These are the same people that told me my seat heaters were burned out and I would have to replace both front seats - but of course it was a cut wire under the drivers seat.
I searched the threads and found nothing on the topic. Has anyone heard of this?

I've done more searching and I think it may be an electrical problem. Not sure if it's in the switch on the dash or something in the transfer case.
Here is a link to the switch (not mine, this is one on google):

When I start the engine, all the lights come on and then either the red neutral light or the yellow 2Hi light stays on.
Not sure what to do?

I drove 400 miles yesterday and this morning on startup my truck was in 4WD Lo. I switched it back to 2WD, drove 10 miles and stopped. When I restarted it was in Auto 4WD.
I'm puzzled. Is it a transfer case problem? Is it a 4WD switch problem? How would I diagnose?
