I currently use 5w30 weight oil. Would a heavier oil such as 10w30 or 10w 40 reduce internal ticking/chirping engine noises? Thanks

Without knowing what the cause of the sound is its hard to say that a heavier oil would alliterative it... I would avoid deviating from the 5w-30... some engine noise is to be expected and don't rule out the transmission ( I know that's not what you want to hear, no pun intended) as the transmission can produce its share of noises.

If you can post a video or sound clip...

GM Service Manager recommended trying 10w30 oil. Just had the 4L60E Trans rebuilt last month, after the current noise started.
I have attached a video of a guy's 5.7L that has the same exact engine noise as my Suburban. Only makes the noise after it warms up. Thanks
