I have a 91 Chevy suburban with a good transmission my 95 GMC suburban has a good engine but the transmission only reverses. Is it possible to swap the transmissions both are four speeds and automatic one is a 4x4 while the other is 2wd. If anyone has and helpful tips or knowledge on the matter I would appreciate any information you can provide.

 

no, even if theyre both are the same looking trans one will be the 4l60 while the other is the 4l60e. theres the possibility of the 4l80e but thats not going to be a hard find and then you have to deal with the splines. you can only convert some 4x2 output shafts to 4x4 shafts but never the other way around
