My roll pin shattered the other night on one of those 0F nights and I ended up bending it so that my door would lock wide open. I had to use pliers to push the spring to get the door closed. I found a replacement roll pin at Autozone. I used a air chisel to take off the top and just hit the top once and it fell through. I did not have to cut it out. Getting it back in was a little more troublesome as there is not much room and the diameter of the splinned area was too large. I ended up grinding the diameter down about 0.010" in order to hammer it in place. Took a few tries, but I got it in there pretty snug. Putting the spring back was a little tough too, but I managed to get that in with a short crow bar. Nice and smooth again.
