Default 94 Suburban finding discontinued part

Hello. So I'm having an issue with fuel delivery due to a plug sock in my fuel tank. I have a 94 Chevy suburban with 6.5 turbo diesel. I have been just disconnecting fuel pump and blowing backwards through line with air to remedy temporarily but I apparently drug my feet too long on buying a new sending unit for the impending dropping of the tank and it seems it is now discontinued and out of stock everywhere. Replacement may not be necessary but I wanted it just in case it is rotten. Fuel tank is questionable if it will survive and honestly will probably just change it but my question is does anyone have a connection or know of a sending unit that would at least fit the tank that needs little to no modifications?

Rockauto seems to have them: 600 bucks and 111.00 dollar core charge however

Are you sure your pickup is not plugged up from algae build up. Just went through this with a diesel Gator that didn't have it's fuel treated regularly.

regardless of what is going on inside of the tank, my point was and is I'm going to drop the tank, change the tank and possibly change the pickup/sending unit. I'm not sure the exact condition of tank or the sending unit so I would rather have the parts on hand to change if necessary so I need to find the sending unit or something very similar I can modify if needed.
im probably just going to buy a tank and filter and hope for the best with the sender.

I'll pick up a bottle of treatment for algae but I'm highly doubtful it will help at the level of clogging going on that an algae treatment would be effective. Thanks
