I have a 95 tahoe that I was just given. It's got a lot of electrical issues that need sorted out before I start ane mechanical work. As the title says, all the dash lights are always on. The fuel pump also runs as soon as I hook up the battery (with no key in the ignition). This happens even with the ignition switch completely removed and unhooked. It also happens with the ecm removed. I've never been very good with electrical, so any help is appreciated. The only thing I currently know about this thing is that the starter is missing, the egr was removed, and it has vortec heads.

 

Welcome to the forum. With a vehicle that old, the first thing you need to do is to get all of the grounds checked. Bad grounds can cause a quite a few electrical problems and weird operation.

 

I actually just got it figured out. The wire feeding the ecm and ign fuses under the hood was shorted to an always hot wire just outside of the fuse block.

I will be going through all the grounds, but I have a lot to do to this thing. Needs an alternater, ac bypass pulley, and starter before I can even start it 😂🤣
