Default 96 TAHOE REAR SPEAKER LOCATION???

OK I've had my 96 Tahoe for 10 Months and LOVE IT.[8D]
One of the things I've noticed is that the back/rear speakers were Blown/Distorted.
I'm just a weekend Mechanic, and didn't want to tackle, removing panels ect.
I have a 22 year old son that works at Circuit City that could do it in a Heartbeat.
Unfortunately I'm in California and he's in Arizona.[]

So I'm unpacking Groceries the other day and I see these 2 rectangular looking covers in the roof, (right above the rear hatch glass). Looks like there held there with Velcro from the factory.
It was pouring rain, so I wasn't able to investigate further, but are these where the Rear speakers are located?
If it IS, than it looks like something even I could do![:-]

Any help from knowledgeable Tahoe owners would be appreciated!

Roger

Default RE: 96 TAHOE REAR SPEAKER LOCATION???

I hope you have your answer by now. But the speakers are above the rear cargo doors behind a cloth like cover on the roof they are very easy to remove. just slide to cover up and pull the bottom out and wallay. 4 7MM screws if I remeber correctly.
