97 catalytic converters
I just replaced my cataytic converters & pipe in my 97 suburban - The check light is on coding to catalytic bank1 and bank 2. I disconnected my battery for an hour (hoping to reset) but it is still on -Someone mentioned I just need to drive it a couple days for it to reset itself, but that doesn't make a lot of sense. Does anyone know what it could be (it was an after market factory bolt up replacement - non californina - not just weld on catalytics)
Many dealers and auto parts stores will clear your codes with a scan tool for free.
Sometimes disconnecting the Positive (+) battery cable and touching it to the Negative (-) post of the battery for several seconds will clear codes as well.

Should be able to just disconnect the neg cable for 10mins to clear it. You don't have an exhaust leak do you?
Wow.....never heard that one before Dave.
