Default 97 suburban - looking for help

Have a few minor problems with my 97 surburban (5.7 4wd).

Rear cargo door only locks/unlocks with key - does not even work with switch in the back.

Single disk CD unit does not work (factory) - does anyone know where I can find a cheap replacement.

As for the back door, first try taking steel wool to the copper plate on the door where the electrical impulse is transferred. Then make sure the fuse isn't out. Those are the easy checks, other than that, I'd be looking to replace it, which would be probably cheaper than paying the dealer to troubleshoot it further.

I haven't found a CD replacement. You can either replace the whole radio, or bring your technology semi up-to-date by using an MP3 player and a cassette adapter, which is what we do. Your CD's will last longer that way as well. I'd be surprised if you're speakers still weren't dried out and blown either on an 97; my 98's went out a couple years ago.
