97 suburban won't turn over
new to the board, but have a question. I can't get our 97 suburban to turn over. Starts to turn over but just won't. Could it be the battery? It has been raining out today, could something have gotten wet and it is miss firing? Ran fine on Saturday and had no problems starting. Tried charging the battery and doing a jump with one of the portable jumpers. And nothing. Any ideas?

When you turn the ignition on, do you hear the fuel pump? It's in the fuel tank, and you may have to have someone listen at the rear of the vehicle. When you turn the ingition on or turn the ignition off, the fuel pump should run for about 1 1/2 seconds to pressurize the fuel lines.
If you do hear the pump, do you know if the fuel filter has ever been changed? Next step is to check the filter to see if it's stopped up.

THanks for the reply. but it isn't the fuel pump. we had a mechanic look at it and it is the distributer. Screws came loose, moisture got into it and was not firing right. So we need to replace that. But thanks for the reply.
