97 tahoe dash light problem

alright so on my dash The P stays lit even when the truck is off wondering why that is and how to fix it thanks

Hummm its been 4yrs since I had my 97 but that sounds normal....it should show that its in park even when the engine is off...unless you are saying that the dash illumination lights are staying on...

yea it stays illuminated even when the truck is off and the key is out
