Default 97 tahoe I really screwed up something

Hi Guys, I have a 97 tahoe 4x4 5.7L and I replaced the o2 sensors behind the cat converters (showing p0140) and on 1 sensor the wires hung down on the pipe melting the wires. driving home from work at a signal the truck started shaking and and 2 codes showed p0102 (mass air flow) and p0340 (camshaft position sensor) i took off from signal and about 200 yards the rpms were going up but the truck was not moving. restarted engine and proceeded on my way and again about 200 yards the same thing. restarted about 15 times to get home. unhooked negative battery and replaced the fried o2 sensor. restarted and the same codes. unhooked battery overnite. restarted and no codes and sounds good. drove 2 blocks and again the rpms up and no go. I seem to hear a grinding from front transfer case I dont think was there before. no codes showing now. thank you

Can't really help on a distance, but I propose to find a smart car electrician. Must be something with the wires and computer freaking out, doubt it's something mechanical.

About that noise from the front, it might sound stupid but check whether you are not driving 4x4 on road.

You may have damaged the computer by shorting the o2 heater power wire to ground or the 5 volt reference to ground. PCM circuits do not like short to grounds very much. You probably need to take it to the dealer or to a shop with a guy good with electrical problems.

Not really any shade tree way to check the ECM , however you can check all of your fuses and make sure none are blown

Even if you could properly tested the new computer must be programmed either buy the dealer or a independent shop that has a pass through module ( used in conjunction with a battery maintainer, snap on scanner and a lap top or PC)
