hey everyone. 98' 2dr tahoe, experiencing a muffled ticking from the exhaust/engine area from 1200 to 1900 rpms and worse while under a load. i replaced the (2) valves from the air pump to exhaust manifold but it didnt fix it. the local mechanic said it's 3 pieces of metal in each of the exhaust manifold that harmonize the air in the exhaust. one of them is broken so now it ticks like an exhaust leak. he found that GM knows about it but isn't making any replacement parts. anybody hear about this or know what to do? contemplating selling it to buy something else, it's that annoying. thanks for the help

Welcome to the forum.
A leaking or cracked exhaust manifold as well as any leak in the exhaust system will make a ticking sound. Know nothing about any baffles, etc harmonizing the exhaust gases.
