my 99 Suburban lost it's brake lights and turn signals
I have checked both fuses and they are not blown as well as checked the fuses under the hood and all are ok there as well??? what has happened? is there a fuseable link somewhere that I am missing?

I have the same problem with my 99...any luck yet?

 

the multifunction switch is probably bad(yeah the turn signal/ 4way switch) the brake lights run through this switch as well......you had better sit down when you price one they are about $200

 

My turn signals work but not the brake and hazard flashers but the brake light works on the top of Sub. Is there a way to by pass the multifunction switch? Tap into the wire that goes to the upper brake light? Any ideas.

I don't think you can bypass the multi switch. Go to the salvage yard and get another one. May want to check your tailight recepticled for the bulbs. Mine lost the left brake and turn, pulled it apart to find this white "goo" in there, cleaned it with terminal cleaner and now is good to go.
