A while (9 months ago) back, I took my car into the shop for some work. This week my suburban started spewing antifreeze under passenger side door. When I looked underneath, I saw the shop had disconnected the rear heater and connected a short loop of hose onto the nipples coming from the front. This hose is what split and started leaking. I figured I would just blow out the lines going to the rear to make sure they were clear of obstructions and thyen plug them back up as they were intended to be. I put new plastic retainer clips on both connections, but when I filled the radiator, the connections started leaking like crazy. Is there a gasket or something I am missing?

 

Welcome to the forum, a gasket or seal would be my guess, but why did the shop by-pass it and not fix it to began with?
Is it the quick connections that are leaking at the rear heater core?

 

Thanks inPro2 - it is the connection. I can't recall what all they did in the shop that might make them disconnect the lines. Had it not been nine months, I would take it back to them. I can't find any reference to a gasket, but that is all that makes sense to me.
