Default 99 Tahoe - code p0300 new engine?

Advice for what should be done next on 99 Tahoe - 120,000 miles. It died going up a steep hill and was towed in to a shop. The repair order read "check computer for codes had p0300 random misfire check computer history on code engine temp was 205 degrees speed was 65mph cylinder 4 showed misfire listen to noise on start up low end bearing noise engine would need to be removed and tore apart to see how much damage was done." He says it would cost more to tear down - should just replace engine and that a remanufactured engine would cost just as much as getting a new engine. Quote is close to $4,000. Are there any other options?
Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.

Might check around. Reman engines don't typically cost as much as a new one. Also check salvage yards.
