Default 99 tahoe ac condenser replacement

Hello all, I'm new here from WI. Looking for tips on replacing ac condenser on my truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All refrigerant has leaked out so the system is not pressurized. Need to know what kind and how much oil to add back in system after replacement in installed. Also not sure how to add it either. First time messing with ac system. Thanks in advance.

If you're replacing the AC condenser, the most common reason is a leak; so better replace the accumulator as well. Uou can pour2 or 3 oz. of correct refrigeration oil into the condenser or accumulator, it will cycle throughout the system.

If you're replacing the AC condenser due to compressor damage, you can also add the correct amount of oil to the compressor, just turn the center part about 10 times by hand/wrench once installed so that the oil will get pumped out of the compressor, as oil is not compressible.

I have to replace it since I cracked the lower port while trying to change hose assembly. Vehicle uses r134a refrigerant. Is there an oil special for that? Can I purchase at an auto parts store?

Auto parts stores generally have about 3 different viscosities of PAG oil for R134a systems, and I use one that already has UV dye mixed in. Which viscosity?

Depends on the year, and should be information on the Internet. This site Chevrolet Light Truck Refrigerant and oil capacity charts || TechChoice Parts says PAG 150 for 1999 Tahoe.
