Default '99 Tahoe fuel filter replacement

To adequately relieve the fuel line pressure before removing the fuel filter, is there any more to be done than remove the fuel tank filler cap?

Default RE: '99 Tahoe fuel filter replacement

On the fuel rail between the intake manifold and the valve cover there is a Schrader valve that can be vented with a sharp tool, be sure the engine is not hot and use a shop towel to catch the fuel.
Also, it is a good idea to replace the filter with as close to an empty tank of fuel as you can get.
