ABS engaging?

ABS engaging?
I have a 2002 2500. When I slow down by putting light pressure on brakes and "coasting" to a stop, it sometimes feels like ABS engages just prior to vehicle stopping.Any ideas? Thanks.

</td></tr></tbody></table>you are correct. it is a wheel speed sensor. the signal is dropping out and the tcs thinks a wheel is locking up so the abs cycles a dump valve. the signal is weaker at slower speeds so falls out only during slow speed operation.
the only way to locate the fault is to take a snapshot with a scan tool of the event when it occurs. the snapshot is uploaded to a pc and plotted. the signal that falls out is then evident. replace that wss. <!-- / message -->

There's a recall out for corrosion of the WSS. My '01 Burb was covered by the recall. Not sure if it was only half-ton trucks, or included 3/4-tons as well. The recall was several years ago, and I had the repair work done for free. Might want to check your local dealership.
