AC issue
Hi. Just picked up a 2003 Suburban and am having AC problems. Compressor won't come on. New low pressure switch and Freon is fine. If I slightly manipulate the wires at the low pressure switch connector it will engage. Pulled the connector apart and everything looks shiny and new. Does anyone know the GM part number for this connector? I have been searching on line but can't find this info. Anyone else ever run across something like this? Thanks for any input.
I cannot sugest you do this since it is a saftey issue, but "what I would do is pull the connector off, and jumper the connector bypassing the switch". Thats what i would do, that would prove the switch either way. Again that is a safety issue so I cannot recommend you doing that.
It's definitely something electrical. If I just watch the clutch it will never engage on its own, but as soon as I move the wire going into the connector slightly it engages. Going to order the connector from the dealer and give that a try.
It may not be the connector but the wiring just behind the connector, you should be able to open the connector up and inspect the wiring going to the pins..see if the wire feels broken inside the insulation...you may also be able to squeeze the pins closed a bit more to get better contact if that is the issue...
