ZX110FS - How can you be getting 450 miles normally? That would mean you are averaging 18 miles in the city? I don't drive with a lead foot, I am concious of the mileage and still can't get over 15 on average in the city, I am dang lucky to get to 350 miles on a tank!!!

The thing about the fuel gauge that is more obvious than any other truck I have had, is the lack of accuracy of ACTUAL fuel left. I can have 100 miles to empty and go around a corner and have the low fuel level warning come on and go down to 40 miles to empty. Parking on my inclined driveway gives me an empty tank any time I am under 1/4 full, and it takes 2 miles of driving for it to "realize" what the actual fuel level is. Could they not do any better than a floater ball in the tank to gauge?

Scooter,

He has the 4:10 gear. Believe it or not, the guys with 4:10's get better mileage than us guys with 3:73's.

Yep, me too. I did not know it at the time, but chose the 4.10 for better towing. Now I have seen I should be getting better mileage, but I am not seeing it. Only 1,800 miles at this point, maybe it will improve with age...?

It definitely improves with age. At around 7.5K to 10K you will be broken in and get better mileage.

I just found some aftermarket gears for the 2007. Finally found a site.

They have some crazy gear set ups. I am debating on the 6:73's? Is that to low guys? Only $99 for the entire kit, lube and all!

If you only have 1,800 miles you are about on target, give her a few thousand more miles and take it easy on her.

My normal driving includes about 75-80% HWY.

My last trip to SoCal I got 476 miles before the light came on but I also have 9,000 miles on the odo.

With those, you could probably get rubber in all three gears, maybe even OD.

Stick your Tahoe in 4-Low and shoot down the highway to find out.
