Default Air bag fuse

1998 Blazer..... Will pulling the fuse on the air bags keep the air bag light off and will the vehicle run okay?

pulling the airbag fuse will keep the airbag light on all the time.

the restraint system and powertrain are 2 independent systems that will not effect the other.

Is there a way to kill the light?

I am assuming that the light being on indicates that the bags may not work which is fine with me so I don't want the problem fixed. The vehicle won't pass inspection with the light on. My wife has very advanced osteoporosis and if she gets hit with the air bag she'll shatter like a piece of fine china. I need it to pass inspection and I don't want the air bag fixed to working order.

that argument won't cut it with the inspection station. its not based on fact or knowledge on the restraint system.

your only option is to fix the airbag system to pass inspection and then pull the airgbag fuse to disable it.
