Default air filter comparison/performance

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ with 12,000 miles. I want to get a little better performance and gas mileage. I have been looking at air filters K&N, Trueflow, Volant, etc. I cant find any technical specs to compare on any of these, such as CFM. Also do any of these cause any long term damage? I have heard of oil on the Mass Air Sensor.

Can anyone compare these filters for me? Which one do you think is best for this vehicle?

Thanks for any help,
Jay

Default RE: air filter comparison/performance

I used both the K&N and a standard filter, I think for engine longevity I'd go with a factory AC/Delco. I've NOT experianced any advers issues with the K&N but you do have to maintain it.
performance wise IMO I don't think you are going to see any real difference unless you change other componets of the system not just the air cleaner i.e. porting and polishing, exhust, power tuner etc...
for performance specs you will probably need to go to each manufacture and look at the specs and do your own comparisons
