Airbag light on, dealer says its module under drivers seat
My friend/tech at the dealer says that the reason I have the airbag light on is because of the module under the drivers seat. I checked and rechecked power and ground going into the module as well as going to the passenger seat. Apparently the module is not sending signal to the BCM I assume. Also when someone sits in the passenger seat the indicator on the top console doesnt change like it used to, has anyone ever had or heard of this problem? I was thinking this had to do something with my interior swap but I have my original sterring wheel air bag, in fact the only airbag that has changed is the passenger front airbag, perhaps they need to be programmed or something?
No new module was added. When I swapped the interior it brought its own bcm but I replaced it with my original one. What is the SDM key?
I just realized that myseat belt light (when you dont have it connected) on the dash doesnt light up at all, which makes me believe that the problem isnt with the module but with signal being sent back to the bcm or what not, sound correct?
Did you discover the problem between your airbag and seat belt light?
I have the same problem on my 2003 Monte Carlo. When the airbag light stays on, I am not reminded to buckle my seat belt; however, if I get the seat belt reminder, the airbag light usually goes off after the initial test.
