Default Alarm is pissing me off. 2001 Tahoe

So my alarm has been acting quite strange. It seems maybe 1 out of 5 times, if I hit the unlock button on my key fob, the alarm goes off. The only way I can get the damn thing to shut off is if I run up to it and put the key in the door and unlock the door manually. I haven't tested it yet, but I'm starting to think that it doesn't like to be unlocked with the remote, if it was locked with the button on the door. This is really annoying. Anybody got any idea what the problem is, or is this a factory "feature"?

Try the relearn procedure in the owner's manual. If that doesn't work, try dealer service.

It may be a short. If you have gotten your remote wet. They will go crazy on you.
