Just wondering if anyone out there has installed a different brand of tires for their '07-'14 Burb or Hoe other than the factory original Bridgestone Dueler P275/55R20 111S? I ask because the Bridgestones are pretty pricey and it'd be nice to find a comparable substitute with the same speed rating and other specs. If you have, are you happy with their performance? How much did you pay per tire? Thanks in advance.

 

i have eagle ls on my burb but it's po and came with them. they're ok. i'm a bridgestone fan. and also have general grabbers on my tundra. pretty good too. i ould just shop around and read reviews. my tire guy tries to price match tire rack and discount for me!

 

I have heard good things about the Kumho's but in the end I went back with the Bridgestone's because of price, ride quality, availability, and the 80k miles I got out of them...

 

Michelin ltx ms2

 

Michelin's are good too but are at the very top of the price range...pretty sure the steel cords are gold plated

 

I've seen several recommendations for Michelin LTX-MS2. They are pricey but if you plan to wear them out, the per mile cost is probably cheaper than the cheaper tires.

 

I have these on my 07 Tahoe. High tread wear rating, quiet, did very well in the snow this past winter, but they are LRR (low rolling resistance) tires but havent noticed any MPG increase, just a gimmick IMO, lol.

I would think the Low Rolling Resistance MPG improvement, much like the use of full synthetic oil, is calculated over the life of the vehicle, or in this case life of the tires...
you're not likely to see instant mpg improvement rolling out of the tire shop, but if you track your mpg over the life of the tires compared to the first set, that is when you will see the mpg gain....

 

Goodyear Silent Armor Pro -Grades are the best tires i have owned.
