Amp options?!?
So I just pick up my tahoe. And withing a week realize just how crappy the Bose system is. I know it's a 2ohm system. But I spliced the wires and rigged up some apline type s components which are 4 ohms. You can now see the difference in clarity. But now my next step is to change out the Bose amp. I haven't had a chance to actually look into the center console yet. I need some feed back as to my options.
I'm not looking to do anything crazy. Apline has a 4 channel 300 watt amp that's pretty compact. And looks like I could just put it where the existing amp is now. My question is has anybody done anything like this and did new wires need to be run?
Also has any one else out there just used the existing speaker wires? I did and I want to see if anyone's had issues?!

You may want to contact Crutchfield.com and discuss what your options are. They will provide you with the amps that will fit. They can also provide you with some suggestions for updated speakers and a head unit, if that is also something you are interested in.
I agree that it would be easiest to reuse your speaker wiring. If this is a new Tahoe, and you keeping your update within a normal range, you should be ok.
Good luck with your upgrade.
