The power steering system is powered from the accessory belt under the hood. (see location in your owner's manual)

- Inspect the pump for leaks or abnormalities
- ensure sure the pulley operates correctly
- inspect belt condition
- check the power steering fluid reservoir dipstick.
- check condition of hoses leading from power steering pump.

When you say the power steering is out, do you mean that you still have manual steering? (increased effort). Or there is absolutely no steering whatsoever?

Possibly a bad pump.
