My brand new 2024 Suburban RST with a diesel 3 liter engine has the auto stop feature. When driving in stop and go traffic the other day auto stop was enabled and the engine stopped at a red light. When I hit the accelerator, the engine did not come back on. I had to turn off the ignition and restart it to get the engine working. Has anyone experienced this? What's the culprit? My guess is that, in stop and go traffic with the auto stop stopping and starting the engine several times within a few minute period, and with the AC and stereo on, the battery just died. Is this a known issue? Thanks for any input.

 

If it was the battery, then I don't think turning it off would have helped.

You need to book your vehicle in at the dealership to have it looked at for warranty issues.
