Which fuse is #61?

RTD is #28 and Stud 1 is #1.

I cant find a #61 on my 2002 Tahoe.

well, the problem is you have a 2002, not a 2007. Very different. Are you are you sure you have auto ride? If so you have to read the label on the cover of your fuse box to find the correct fuse. Never use other model years for numbers...

Exclamation Auto Ride Control rear shocks

I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe with 90K miles on it. 2 years ago got ripped off for $1400 bucks to supposedly repair the rear shocks. I kept hearing the compressor go on for several minutes, sometimes 20 minutes, with no load and no towing. Did this off and on for years. Now, a few years later, the dash light is coming on telling me to SERVICE RIDE CONTROL which turns out, the same problem, the rear shocks.
Can I just disconnect these things and will the indicator light go off if I do? My new mechanic, who I trust, wants 800 bucks total to fix them, since I already invested 1400 a few years ago. So. I don't want to spend the money on these shocks if I have NEVER TOWED ANYTHING and NEVER HAVE ANY HEAVY LOADS in the back. The most I've ever had is 5 adults in the car at one time and once in a while my dogs.
Please tell me what to do!
thanks.

no you can't just disconnect and the message go away...the shocks are about 140 each, so $280 for parts and done unless you need the compressor which is about $205 on rock auto.com. so 485 with shocks and compressor and they're very easy to change, so your mechanic would be charging a significant amount, but hey, he has to eat right?...and maybe feed his wife and five kids...and maybe 2 dogs...a cat...some birds...and some fish...

btw arnott has some bypass connectors that will make the message go away, if you want to disconnect and get conventional shocks

I did the replacement on this. It's about an hour and the cost was $344.11 shipped. The old unit was corroded completely through several parts, including the dryer. Recommend you give the bolts some PB Blaster and some time to loosen up, depending on the corrosion underneath and the mileage on your vehicle.
