I'm going to be replacing both upper ball joints on my 99 burb 4x4 and I'm wondering if there is anything else I should do pro-actively since the front end will be torn apart? There is 190k miles on it.
Oh, I'm also going to replace the rotors and pads since the shop says they are at 30% and it flutters pretty bad when breaking. I'm pretty limited on my DIY auto stuff. I have replaced spark plugs, alternators, batteries, other small stuff. This Ball Joint is by FAR the biggest thing I will be doing so any pointers to make it easier would be greatly appreciated.
If that goes well, i'm going to be replacing the leaking valve cover gaskets.

i would replace the lower ball joints as well, since you'll be in there anyway. rent a ball joint remover/installer kit if your local parts store has one, makes life alot easier. also pay attention to the directions for installation. ball joints must go in turned a certain direction. check tie rod ends while you're in there.
