I am wondering what is the best OBD 2 reader for my suburban? I'm very familiar with vcds for my vw new beetle and I am wondering also if there is something like that?

Welcome to the forum. It all depends on how much money you want to spend. Your basic scanner that you pick up at your auto store for under $100 is only going to get the basic codes. I've heard that the one that the techs use at the dealers which can check all of the various computers on the vehicle cost upwards of $2,000 out more.
