Black Bowtie for front and back
#4
Thank you guys, I got the front one just about done. The rear looks much harder.
I used Black Mercury (Boat Motor) paint. 3 coats primer, 3 coats black, now comes the clear. I am going to do 2-3 coats clear. Looks great, so far.

Welcome to the forum.
I used Krylon Gloss Black on top of a adhesion promoter and then a clear coat. Duplicolor would work.
You'll need to color sand and buff to get rid of any orange peel.

All trim nowadays is held on with 3M automotive tape. Heat the bow tie with a hair dryer set on high. Don't overheat.. and remove it slowly. you can use a thin plastic putty knife to help lift. The excess glue can be removed with bug and tar remover.

Actually the rear bowtie is held on w/ an adhesive. Monofilament fishing line is the best way to get it off w/o risk of breaking it.
The front one is held on w/ two 10mm speed nuts and a small amount of adhesive.
