Blinking Cel light
01 suburban 5.3. 168k miles
Check engine light started blinking accelerating from a red light up a small hill. After I checked cel p0300 was the code. Some recent issues i have also been having is random idle stumbling at a red light. Seems to happen more when ac is on. Here is the freeze frame data available to me.
Freeze frame information: ------------------ Engine Load = 29.412 % Engine Coolant Temperature = 197.6 °F Fuel Trim Bank 1 Short Term = 5.469 % Fuel Trim Bank 1 Long Term = -1.562 % Fuel Trim Bank 2 Short Term = 3.125 % Fuel Trim Bank 2 Long Term = 3.125 % Intake Manifold Pressure = 13.634 psi Engine RPM = 1,974.5 rpm Speed (OBD) = 37.282 mph Mass Air Flow Rate = 72.34 g/s Throttle Position(Manifold) = 44.706 %
Any help on where i should start is appreciated.

OBD codes are easily found on the internet

If yours is blinking then you have a bad misfire problem. Time to check the ignition system. Especially if you have a dizzy.

When's the last time you changed plugs and wires? If it's been longer than the recommended maintenance interval for that year, I'd start with those. If that's doesn't help, could be bad ignition coil(s). If you have a scanner that can pull mode 6 data you might be able to see the individual misfire counters for each cylinder. Not sure about the 2001 though. The 2007+ definitely expose that data as I was having misfire issues last year and used that data to track down the problem. ELM327 modules or Walmart has a rebranded Autel AP200 called the HyperTough HT200 that's an awesome little device for only $50. It reads all the different modules in my 2007.
If you change the plugs and wires, I recommend not buying from ebay or even amazon. There are so many counterfeit plugs out there it's ridiculous. I got counterfeit iridium plugs. I just replaced them with plugs from advance auto parts. They always have at least a 15% off coupon code but currently have a 25% off coupon code that should still be good. Buy online then pick up in store.
