Default Body fit

Noticed today there is a big gap between the rear bumper cover and the body where the two screws attached it to the body. Appears to be bowed out away from body at the left and right ends towards the center. The lift gate always gets extremely dirty and I wonder if this could be part of the reason (Road dirt sucked up by the low pressure area behind Tahoe). By the way it is a 2007 Tahoe. It is an awful big gap to be sealed with body sealant ( at least a 1/4 of an inch or more.) If someone would look at their Tahoe and see if this in normal I would appreciate it.

Default Body fit

Forgot that I had a camera. Will attempt to post photo of left side and right side. White areas are where I put duct tape behind gaps so they would show up.

Default bumper

Holy american car build quality bat man!

No, mine is not like that.

I do know in 08 or 09 they put a new bumper on the tahoe from the 07 version. I thought it was cosmetic in the back, but it may be different where it meets the truck as well...

I do not have a gap like that... I haven't seen a gap like that since a 1996 Ford...

From the photos, it appears that the rubber seal is pulling away or not properly installed.

No ,the rubber seal in solidly in place but the bumper cover just seems to bow out between the two screws and the tail light assembly. The two push pins in the center appear to be properly attached. I'm going to try to seal this gap with some black silicon sealant that I found. Don't want to make a mess of it though. You can't see the gap with the lift gate closed.
