I did not notice the bump at first, but now that you point it out- That would bother me as well.

Has anybody Shaved the front emblem off completely? I am wondering what that would look like.

I'm pretty sure this is it...Based on his info and the look

Not that is not the one. I remember it had a picture of a WHITE Tahoe with 2 guys inside it with a stupid look on their faces. It is made out of aluminum so it is easy to polish. They also showed another picture of it next to a stainless steel one and you could see how much thicker it was. It's easy to install however you need to cut up the stock plastic grill.

GMpartsdirect shipping is $9.95 = $29.50 to the door. Check the dealer first. Also is this the entire rear assembly.I would think this DOES come as a unit.

ORIGINAL: TPeezy

So do I have to take my emblem off to paint it? Or could I just tape off around the emblem and keep it on the tahoe and paint it? Because I really don't want to have to try and get them off and put them back on.
There are a few threads on how to paint the emblem! However, there is no need to leave it on to paint it. It is about a 5 minute take off. There are about 6 10MM bolts along the top of the grille area. Pop the hood, and they are right on top. Once you remove the 6 10mm bolts the grill will pull "away" from the vehicle about 2-4 inches. You can then get your hands in the hole to get to the back of the emblem. You will feel the emblem has a prong on each end. It is held by 2 10mm self locking nuts. Just take a 10mm deep socket and get them loose, it wont take much. Just make sure you dont drop them down in the front area. ONce the nuts are off the emblem is now free with the exeception of double sided tape. Just genlty pull the emblem out, or use fishing line inbetween the emblem and the chrome and use a sawing motion to cut through the tape. Now you have it removed paint it as you wish. This really is about a 5 minute take off. After you do it once you will see how easy it is.

I think that is it too! But, why dont you buy it and install it so I can see how it looks since Flatahoe has fallen off the earth.

Do you know how to take the entire front stock grille section out? The chrome surrounds and everything? I havent tried this, just wondering if someone has!

I noticed that also. I dont really like it. However, I just want a grille that looks closed like that. More bars and less openings!

I take back what I said about the grill. Is that the same one you always had that you said looked like mine?

Mine has the bottom bar cutout to clear the top of the bowtie. Plus six bars on top and eleven on the bottom. It's just a cheap overlay. Looks good from six feet away.

I wondered if it is possible to just snap out the black mesh part of the grill? It seems like the tabs just snap into the surround.

Shark,
My grille is the same one I have always had. It is the one in the beginning of this thread. In the pics with my bowties. It is the cheap ebay one, like 70 shipped. Probably the same one you have, correct?

I don't think they are the same. You seem to have fewer bars but they look thicker than mine. Mine was about $80 shipped from Autopartsgallery on eBay.

When we get the spring thaw, will get some better pics. Right now it has a layer of ice on it.
