I was having problem with brake lights not working on 02 Tahoe with 269,000 miles and finally found the problem after putting a brake light switch on, which was not the problem. The problem was the passenger side rear brake light socket was bad, it had melted in the socket. I replaced it with AC Delco LS 92 light socket. Just a note the turn signal all worked fine with the bad socket. Maybe this will help someone who has the same problem.
