Which brake lines to buy?
Hi,
I have the famous rusting brake lines, and plan to replace all of them. At first I was going to buy the AC Delco set of prebent lines with the nylon coating. But this set is said to not include the lines that cross over the rear axle. Then, I saw that Dorman also makes a set of prebent lines that are stainless steel, and seem to include ALL of the lines.
I guess stainless is better than the nylon coating, perhaps, although that isn't my main reason for purchase. My main reason would be replacing the rear lines also. However, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever bought the Dorman prebent SS lines; I searched the web and could not find a SINGLE review of Dorman SS lines for any vehicle. I think they are relatively new. Also, I would assume that the OEM should probably be trusted for a more precise bent line? (although I guess could go either way)
Price difference isn't significant, around $70 for AC Delco, around $100 for Dorman. Seems VERY cheap, since I read in other threads that people bought prebent stainless from Summit Racing for around $350. Maybe the prices have gone down, or perhaps the quality is much lower?
Please share thoughts here; thanks!

I'm done replacing all but rear axle lines, looking all over for a source. I burst the drivers side frame rail line, while giving up on a late yellow and then trying to stop. Very unsafe drift into an empty intersection. Hello GM / NHTSA?
I'm not seeing Dorman stainless source, and currently plan to go back to the dealer. Links for these rears, please. I went to inlinetube.com, but ended up looking only at older than 1999 GM products.
