brake pad clips

There are 2 different brake pad retaining clips that come with the new brake pads for a 2008 chevy sub lt 1500. which ones should be used??

I'd say pull a wheel, and see what's there. I never thought there would be any difference. If the pad's the same, the clip just holds it in the caliper till you put it on the rotor
