i just bought 2007 suburban ltz and need to install a trailer brake controller

look into a dealer install oem brake controller . "Some" of the factory units will incorporate sway control using the abs system....a great safety feature. Not sure what year the factory unit started with sway assist but its something the aftermarket units can't do.

09 started the Brake controller from the factory. I do not believe it can be done after the fact.

You can install any of dozens of after market ones though.

Something tells me this truck already had a pre-wired connection and someone either decided not to use it or wanted to do it the hard way. My '01 base model which I had to run the brake controller and aux. power wires to the rear had this connection already in the harness. And also, It is 20 or 30 amp fuse for controller depending on how many axles you're running and 40 amp fuse or breaker for aux. power.
