Default Broken driver's seat

The metal framework in the driver's seat of my '01 Suburban has broken in several places. I can't find a replacement seat anywhere. It is NOT a power seat, of which I have found several, although in poor condition, and not a match anyway. Other than that, the interior is in great shape, and with 235K, still a great vehicle. Any ideas where I could get a replacement? I've tried Ebay and won't try Craig's list.

Have you checked the website of suburban seats? They sell aftermarket replacement seating and custom seatings in their showroom.

You can try the junk yards in your area. You can also try and have it welded. Depending on how bad the breaks are, it is possible to repair it.

Default broken seat

No luck in area junkyards; good seats are the first thing to go, it seems. Welding on those seats in my garage seems risky; but, hey, that's what insurance is for, right? But it may be my only option because I tried removing the seat, but am unable to figure out how to remove the seat belt that runs through it. I'd better take another look before firing up ol' sparky.
