Cool 98 silverado driver seat back latch broken

Having a problem with a 98 silverado 60/40 seat. After releasing drivers side seat (back rest) latch to access rear seat, seat bottom slide latches ok but back rest remains fully forward. Any ideas how to access the latch stops to look for damage? Would appreciate other options and any help offered. Thanks

I have the exact same issue. Have you found out what it was and a solution?

Default Broken Seat back

I actually removed the seat from the floor, accessed the floor slide mechanism but didn't find any problem with it. I couldn't gain access to the handle mechanism in the seat back. I finally gave up and took it to the mechanic. He fooled with the seat back and it started working. Point to remember, my seat stopped working when I allowed it fly forward uncontrolled. The mechanism must have jammed. Playing with it and it finally released and started working. If your situation was similar, don't give up fooling with it, sorry I wasn't more help.
