IS anyone else having problems with broken or leaking heater core quick disconnect tees ?

This is actually more complicated than at first glance. Mrs. Cusser's 2005 Yukon Denali has white plastic quick disconnect tees close to the firewall, then straight quick disconnects that have hoses that go to the engine. The two straight quick disconnects were replaced two years ago by a mechanic when he replaced the hose assembly at the engine end; one leaked after 3 weeks so he replaced that for no charge. One of those broke in August while Mrs. Cusser was towing the horse 60 miles from home, and all coolant was lost. I replaced that broken straight quick disconnect myself, it was only two years old; I also replaced that hose with one that was a little longer, to try to relieve some tension as the engine vibrates. The little green Lisle disconnect tool was needed on mine to get the broken disconnect off. A radiator flush kit with assorted sizes and clamps is a good thing to have around to bypass the heater core/connect the two hoses if this happens on the road. Ford and Chrysler also use such quick disconnects, sure easy for monkeys on assembly line to install !!!

Since the Yukon's radiator had exploded a few months prior to this at almost the same location, also with horse, Mrs. Cusser sure wasn't happy. At least there was no engine damage from either of those; miraculously I think there was some sort of warning/automatic shut-off or she would've kept on driving until it melted.
