Buff it, Buff it real good...
I hate winter. It's cold out. I can't do anything fun. I'm not willing to endure mindless TV and waste my life on the couch. So instead I wasted 6 hours on this.
6 Hours was JUST the Tahoe. My friend works at a dealer doing the recon, and basically told me what to buy.
I never really got into car care outside of washing it myself, and some armor-all wipes on the inside.
After my Tesla, I discovered the fun that is a clay bar, quality wash soap, soft mitts, and quality gear.
I'm far from an expert, but I think they look pretty good. With 3 black cars, I figured it was about time I broke down and got a buffer.
The kit wasn't cheap, but all in under $300, and that's more than enough to do many cars. $200 was the DA buffer. I had a Harbor Freight rotary, but it was unwieldy, and too much for a car.
I washed and tried the Tahoe, hit it with a clay bar. (Stand back about 6 feet and just throw it. That'll do.)
Then I used the correction pad and pink stuff (smells like toothpaste) on any rough areas, including the door handles a mirrors. WOW do they pop now.
Then I did all over with the finishing pad wax.
Apparently there is another step - a polish you can do. I might do that when I get a chance. I ruined the pad on another project. $20 gets you 2 pads. Walmart has them online, free ship.
Anyway, hope you like some automotive adult entertainment.

When I get bored, projects get done. That's... just what I do. This week will be a 60' run of 6/3 for the wife's outlet for her car.
