The max towing weight for my '12 Burb is 5,000# with the 3.08 axle ratio. It has a factory installed 10,000# hitch and 7 pin connector and wired for a brake controller. What the HD towing package from Chev consists of is a 3.43 axle ratio, external trans and oil coolers. The 3.43 axle ratio increases the max to 5,500#, the coolers add another 2,500# of towing for a total of 8,000# max towing capacity. This is according to the owner's manual. I added the external coolers but did not change the axle ($$$) so I consider that I now have a max towing of 7,500#. Using an Andersen wdh I'm towing a 6,000# travel trailer and the Burb handles it fine. YMMV
