Default Buying 2000 Tahoe Limited-Fair Deal?

Hi, I'm in the market for the rare Tahoe Limited. I'm from central Louisiana. A guy is offering me a Limited Tahoe with....175k miles, very very new tires. Has new AC compressor. Tow package. Very clean interior and exterior. Engine and Xmission no problems. Everything very clean on truck EXCEPT: needs new front brakes and it has a crack on the top of the dash. Also, it may need a temperature switch bc gauge shows that engine is running really cool. Owner is asking for $5800.00 and not a penny less. Is this a fair price or should I walk away? Opionals all welcome. Thanks.
PS: instrument cluster lights a blue. I think its neat but is that factory.

The engine running cool may be as the result of a stuck t-stat.

Not sure about the "blue" IP lites.

Thanks a bunch. according to the owner, he had the t-stat changed. i'm going to look at the truck again and bring an infrared thermometer and find out if the motor is actually running cold or if its the temp switch.

My 2000 Tahoe Limited temp gauge read low for the 7 years I owned it. I never worried much about it as it always had plenty on heat. As for the price I traded it in in 2008 with 140,000 miles on it. I was given 3500 which was a reasonable trade in value at the time. If I remember correctly private sale was around 5k. Just on that I think his price is too high.
