Default Buzzing/vibration noise at speed 50+ mph

Hi Folks
I test drove a 2001 Tahoe LS 4X4 with 118750 miles on Thursday. It's a nice ride except for when I went on the highway at speed of 45+ mph there was a buzzing/humming noise coming from the front hood/ windshield area. I thought it was the wipers were loose so I turned on the wiper when the wiper arm are both in the up position pointing to the sky, the buzzing/vibration/humming noise went away. But when it return to the down position it buzzed like crazy, this remind of my crown vic when the wiper cowl vibrate against the windshield. When I stop teh truck I tried to move teh wiper cowl and there was no movement. I hope it's the problem and not transmission/TC/ or Transfer case, U-joints. I try to search the buzzing/vibrrtion/humming noise during highway speed on the forum and there seems to be problem regarding this wiper cowl. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx in advance

Welcome to the Tahoe forum. Since the noise went away w/ the wipers away from the cowl area, sounds like they are part of the problem. Try removing the blades from the arms and see if that has any effect.

does the vehicle have a bug defector? if so this could be causing the air flow change that is making the blades buz
