Default A/C Pressures

Does anybody know the high and low side pressure ranges for a 97 burb with dual air?

Low pressure should be read at the evaporator temp on the temp scale on the gauge. The high pressure should be 1.8 to 2.1 times the ambient temp. Best to have a large fan blowing on the condenser to get accurate readings.

the system was working but blowing a little warm went to check the pressures and they looked low but when pulled my high side connection i lost all the freon due to a bad schrader valve, i fixed that not sure whats original on the system just bought it in february with 256,000 miles on it and was suprised it worked at all i have a book that has the pressures listed for it but wasn't sure how accurate the numbers where,i'm saving my money for the factory books

What I gave you was for R12 and I suspect that a '97 has R134a. High would be about 2.2-2.5 times ambient.

You'll need to evacuate the system now that it's been opened to the atmosphere to remove any moisture. Then you have to estimate how much oil was lost and add that along w/ the new freon.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Does your Haynes list the hi/lo pressures for a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup?
